The Toren, has been awarded the Green Key certificate year upon year.
• Renewable Energy: Himalayas Ecological Resort are leading the charge to harness the power of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power, reducing their reliance on fossil fuels and lower carbon emissions.
• Local Sourcing: All our properties prioritise sourcing locally grown produce and artisanal products to support local farmers and businesses, reduce transportation emissions, and showcase the rich flavours and craftsmanship each of their regions have to offer. Each of our Rome hotels have carefully crafted menus, food tours and cooking classes to enhance the local ingredients Rome has to offer.
• Community Engagement: We are dedicated to giving back to the communities where we operate. Through partnerships with local charities such as The Toren, Amsterdam’s commitment to local children’s charity BIO Vakantieoord, https://www.biovakantieoord.nl/en/, social enterprises such as Phuket’s support of Seeds of Change, https://seedsofchangephuket.com. We support initiatives that empower disadvantaged groups, promote education, and preserve cultural heritage through charities such as the Child Welfare Scheme, whose founder Douglas Maclagan and Chairman Gordon Oldham work in partnership as shared owners of the Group.
